A random alien artifact in the desert

Just a random thing I made with Blender:

I guess it’s supposed to be an alien artifact in a sandy desert. It’s at this point unclear why sand is present in a building that looks suspiciously like a train station. Or what exact purpose its blue glow serves.

… apart from me wanting to play around with Blender’s materials, HDR environment maps (… the train station one had a nice sunset) and enjoying the pure simplicity of extruding rectangular faces.

Just leaving this here with two main purposes:

• to put something borderline interesting on this site, and…
• I think it doesn’t look overly entirely horribly bad either?
